My MAP sensor issues woes and a solution
I bought the BMS 4 bar MAP sensor and harness, and installed it a little over a year ago. Since then I have been battling MAP issues. The ECU would randomly throw MAP codes and send me into limp mode. I checked wiring connects and a host of other things including my tune thinking something was off. In the middle of a 600 mi drive this past weekend the car threw a MAP code and sent me into limp mode. Usually I can clear the code, re-flash the tune and be good for a while. This time nothing worked and I had to limp the car to my destination for over 200 miles.
After figuring out that I was sold a knock off 4 bar Bosch sensor which was the root of my issues, I picked up a N20 VDO sensor (3.5 Bar). So far after over 600 miles the sensor is working flawlessly.
For anyone else that is having MAP sensor issues like I was here is the fix that I used and it didn't require a harness and took just a few minutes to make work:
The N20 sensor fits on the MAP harness if you install it backwards. The issue is that the pin order is backwards if it is installed this way and the sensor will not work. In order to make the sensor work the pin order has to go from 1-2-3-4 to 4-3-2-1.
There is a video out there that shows how to push the pins out and re-order the pins on the harness. The problem here is that if the sensor dies you cannot simply put your stock sensor in, re-flash your DME and go on about your business. You would need to find another N20 sensor and hope that its in stock somewhere.
My solution was to take the N20 sensor and remove the alignment pieces on the inside of the connector. There is a square hump in the middle and the right side of the connector is partially filled. It took less than 10 min to remove all of the material. After installing the modified sensor I have so far had no issues after 600+ mi of driving and I am able to put my stock sensor back on in case there is an issue.

fault code 2ABD DME:BOOST-pressure sensor,overrun
Hi,
I need help with fault 2ABD DME:BOOST-pressure sensor,overrun.
My car is 135i N54 FBO, tmap N20, MHD flas with pack stage 2, E85 maps and with Mboost.
I have problem on maps E50 or E60. Every time after start engine will get engine light on and fault code 2ABD. After clearing faults I can drive car without problems until starting engine again. Other DME maps including E30 are without problems.

M3 Diff Swap
I just wanted to run my thoughts by some folks and see if anyone can tell me why my center support bearing isn't lining up.
My Car: 2008 e92 335i manual trans
Donor parts:
M3 3.15 LSD
M3 Driveshaft (I don't know if its the Manual shaft that is 1433MM in length or the DCT driveshaft that is 1456mm in length) but this shouldn't matter for the Diff to CSB measurement right!
An e92 M3 chasis is the same as an e92 335i chasis so am I correct in thinking I should be able to bolt in the M3 diff allowing the REAR HALF of the M3 driveshaft to bolt into the diff and then center support bearing should line up right? Well its currently landing about an inch past the rear most mounting holes in the tunnel.
I thought I would need to trim the front half of the driveshaft. Not the rear. Or am I wrong?

How do i tune out 2C9 codes(catalytic converter)
Hey all,
I've got catless down pipes, so I have the 2C9 codes giving me the CEL. Beings that the JB4 no longer blocks those codes out, I'd like to get into the map and remove the codes. I've been looking for a DIY, but can't find one. I used to have an AP for my old mazdaspeed 6, and I could use the software on my computer to literally just deselect whatever codes I wanted to silence and not have the car report. Is that possible here?
If this is the wrong section for this post, I apologize. Just let me know.

Did i just spin a bearing?
I rolled up to the garage today and heard a clicking noise that increased with the RPM's. I happened to get a quick video but it sounds pretty bad... Any ideas? :wtf:
↧
What is this weird noise at idle?
Just noticed today i got this weird noise at idle. It came for about 20 seconds and went away by itself. Goes away when i rev the car... Any ideas? It clearly went away by itself at 11 seconds in the video

TunerPro | BoostBox Setup
Hello all,
Is there a step by step for inverting the WGDC and canceling the resistor check in tunerpro for the boostbox? Pictures preferably. I purchased a DocRace kit at the beginning of June with a boostbox and wanted to prep my tune prior to receiving the kit.

https://datazap.me/u/07tundra/log-15...og=0&data=3-22
Here are two logs with the VRSF race FMIC if you look at the AIT's they almost completely flatline. The first link is a log done at night ambient was high 70s and the 2nd log during the day ambient was 97-99 degrees out. Under these same conditions, my old FMIC would climb an easy 30-40 degrees and here's the link for that and mind you this log was also at night ambient high 80s

Does anyone have a XDF for 0I860S
I have a 2008 BMW with a msd80 ECU. I have the ECU software 0I860S. I'm trying to put a map on it but I can't find any XDF files for it. Can I just update the ECU to change my software version using a zusb from a different msd80 part number? I'm assuming the this ECU is identical and the part number is just for application? Or is that the software version for my particular ecu part number?
Thanks guys!
Thanks guys!

Upgrading axles
Hi,
on the N54, are there any things you can do to upgrade axles yourself? i.e. Make them stronger.
I know there are various aftermarket axels that can be bought but I'm not aware of any offered here in England so I wondered if there's anything that can be done with stock axles, or do any larger axles also fit the N54? Like something found in some of the M cars. I'm not aware of any.
Thanks
