Subject title is two different codes: "Water pump communication' and "water pump low power" that I've been getting sporadically. Finally today, I got the red thermometer, and "low coolant" code. Pulled over and was towed home.
I figured it was the waterpump; 175k km and it's about time it crapped out right? INPA showed that the waterpump was unresponsive to commands to run at various duty cycles. Coolant was a bit low. Cleared codes and replaced waterpump and thermostat in 3hrs, 2E84 is still present "Water Pump Communication", and new pump will not run for bleeding cycle.
5 DME fuseblock checks fine. Passenger seat fuses look okay, for the ones I checked (big 30A and 40A ones). I've been awake for 25 hours now so it could just be a brainfart here.
Will take a multimeter to the connector tomorrow and see if power is going to it.
Any ideas? I always figured the waterpump was on the fritz but it seems like something bigger is going on.
Thanks
