Resetting adaptations with jb4 g5

Did a search and emailed bms without a definite answer.

If I use 1-7 on steering controls to reset my adaptations does the car need to be off? Do I need to wait before starting? Which map should I run after reset? How long should I go without going wot? Anything else to note?
