Hi,
Mods:
Turbo Dynamics full on stage 2 turbos(both compressor and turbo sides upgraded)
Wagner IC
CP-e downpipes
BMS DCI
Alpina flash for the Steptronic
tuned by Dzenno@PTF for 109 race gas, and I thank him for the great job he did.
stock suspension(non-M).
Outside temp: ~65F
stock 18" wheels, the "bmw individual" ones, 14.5kg = 32lbs each
. Michelin PS 1 RFT on the rears
. That was by accident. Conti SportContact 3 on the front.
Nothing removed from the car.
I raced only once with race gas in the finals in my category, against a 2009 Nissan GT-R with exhaust and tune.
Before the finals I ran only once, and that was in the qualifying sessions with 100RON pump gas, but with some OTS Cobb map for stock turbos and the car was very slow and looked pretty bad in the logs and it was a risky decision to go in. Not Cobb's fault, of course
. I barely managed to qualify with 12.7
. After the qualifying session I managed to find some race gas(don't ask why I did not have race gas with me as it is a long story
) and changed the map to one provided by Dzenno@PTF which was looking very very good on the logs before the race. I was very optimistic after seeing the logs.
1.85s 60ft, which could have been much better. I started in 1st gear, sport mode, of course. but i avoided brake boosting too early and I started with just 2500rpm because of my lack of sync with the semaphore and my lack of experience.
2.2s 60ft for the GT-R. Aparently, he did not use launch control.
11.73 for me, 11.92 the GT-R.
the problem was my lack of experience, and my reaction time that ~1.2s was more than 0.2s slower than his and he beat me and went on to take first place, and I took 3rd place, with 2 GT-Rs on the podium
.
i am dissapointed I did not find race gas earlier so I could have done more runs, maybe I could have pulled off 11.5s with better 60ft.
198.06kmh exit speed for me(~124mph), 200.05 for the GT-R, which shows very good power for a 335xi AT.
It appears to be the fastest 335xi on dragtimes.com
.
i am shooting for lower ET, and I will try to remove the seats, put on some lighter wheels and better tires, and add some meth to the ecuation. and practice some more!![Click here to enlarge]()
