All,
I just got my car back from getting an O.S. Giken installed along with M3 subframe bushings and Delrin differential bushings.
The LSD was built by VAC since I had welded ring gear. So I received the whole housing, aka "the pumpkin" already built and assembled from VAC. Therefore, I trust their build quality.
I took a longer drive around the city today and I noticed the following:
1. There is a faint whining noise definitely coming from the differential. Its not there when cruizing. If I accelerate OR decelerate the frequency and the sound level increase or decrease. However, if I cruise at constant rate regardless of the speed, there is no sound.
2. Sometimes when I engage and disengage the clutch, there is a faint "thud" or "thump" sound coming out of the back.
Are these symptoms normal?
Thanks in advance.
Vasil
