Help with jb4 code reading please

I have my settings to 135i metric which is correct for my car as its a Canadian 135i the only issue is that when its reading codes the numbers around halfway or better on the speedometer don't quite line up with anything... I can't get a proper number to use for cross referencing the code #s or letters. I guess my question is why isn't it accurate and what can I change to make it accurate? FWIW my girlfriend took the laptop with her today and she won't be back until late tonight so I'm kind of SOL.
